A struggling Illinois milkshake machine salesman named Ray visits San Bernadino, California to sell his multi-mixer to a restaurant, of which the system is supremely different than any other. Later, at a dinner with the founders, they reveal that they use the ‘Speedee’ system, a system that lowers the time required for a drive-thru meal from 30 minutes to 30 seconds. Intrigued by this idea, Ray tries to convince the founders to issue franchises, but they disagreed, because someone sold something else altogether.  Ray decides to handle franchises. He asks his golf friend to make a franchise.
