Oh my god, this movie is really a ride. Omkar Lele, or Ole, is a widower and single father who’s main aim is to live life at its fullest. Contrastingly, his son Aditya Lele, or Aale, is an extreme workaholic, constantly having calls, conferences, meetings, presentations, and having very little, if any time for himself and his family. How much ever Ole tries to get Aale to do anything, he never manages to do anything with him. One time, after Aale fails to appear for a dinner at home, Ole, in sadness, apparently flees the house. Confused, Aale and their house helper, Baburao, rush to the police station and ask everybody about Ole’s whereabouts. Turns out, Ole was always at home, simply hiding. Aashish Bende is a boy born in 1979, named so as he apparently had the blessing of God, as there was a mark on his forehead (it really was from the tools used for surgery). Dnyanesh is a young boy who lives in poverty with his mother, grandmother, and younger sister Mukta. The title’s eponymous bicycle, Elizabeth, was gifted to Dnyanesh by his father, who built that cycle and later, passed away. The cycle remains the only memory of the father that lives on with them. As I said, the financial condition of the family is very weak, so Dnyanesh’s mother does some odd jobs to help to keep the household running. One day, as the mother is unable to repay the loan taken for a sweater machine, the bank takes the sweater machine away, making the family lose their only source of income. After a long list of complaints by moaning adults about Prabhat, his father decides to send him to a Vedic school against his own wish. Over there, Prabhat keeps on whining about not liking it and tries to escape several times. One certain night, he manages to escape and feeling tired, he goes to sleep on the bank of the Ganga river. There he meets a sanyasi named Kaanbhatt, ­­­ who Prabhat begs to take him home. Kaanbhatt takes the boy home and gives him some food. Prabhat asks for the time of the train home. A rip-roaring comedy film, A Paying Ghost is a 2015 Marathi film inspired by a story by the late Va Pu Kale, whose imagination knew no boundary. The movie starts with a description of Madhav, who is constantly bullied by his neighbours because he can never deny a request. At work, his colleague Vasant is playing cupid with Madhav and another colleague, Madhavi. Once, after returning home late from the office, the former meets a ghost named Gajanan who is persuading Madhav to let him and his family stay in his house. The movie began with Dhundiraj Govind ‘Dadasaheb’ Phalke a.k.a ‘Professor Kelpha’ showing weird and wonderful magic tricks to children. To perform his vanishing magic trick, Dadasaheb ran away. =      “ He’s gone! ” He actually had made the kids believe that he vanished.
