Which is the best Snow-White
adaptation of them all?
Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs!
Merlin is the leader of a group
called the Fearless 7 (F7) who patrol Fairytale Island and defend it. They are
Merlin, Arthur, Hans, Jack, Pino, Noki and Kio. One day, after flaying a
dragon, they kill a witch, who seemed very suspicious, but she was the FAIRY
PRINCESS! For killing her, the curse was that they will turn into dwarves and have
to kiss the most beautiful woman to become human again. Fast forward to 7 years
later. The dwarves are still looking for a woman to kiss to be normal. At the
royal castle, a chubby and strong Snow White comes into her stepmother Queen
Regina’s room, where she sees 2 red shoes, and she wears them. Regina tells her
bodyguards to find the girl. Snow White crash-lands onto the dwarves’ house,
under the alias of Red Shoes. For her new beauty through the shoes, Merlin
immediately becomes smitten for her, and looking for ways to ‘impress’ her and
he thinks he is not very good-looking in this form. In a neighboring kingdom, the
selfish Prince Average (who insists it is pronounced Ah-VOO-rage) tries to take
Red Shoes as a dance mate for his birthday round the corner. Want to know more?
Watch the movie!
I liked that movie a lot! By the
way, this is the first Korean (the movie has an English dub) movie I have
watched. I like that there are many alterations in the story, with some of them
being:
·
‘Magic’
just being the Magic Mirror’s first name
·
Snow
White being chubby and proud of that, and she gets her external beauty from the
shoes (kinda like Cinderella, but instead of just needing beautiful clothes,
she gets her beauty as a whole)
I also like that this is based on
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves story by the Brothers Grimm, but it is
original in a multitude of ways. Disney, on the other hand, just takes a story,
makes it into a movie (with the story being more or less the same as the
original fairy tale), and some songs in the between. This is way better. I
totally like the fact that it is the MALE who is insecure about how he looks to
impress a girl. Usually, it is the reverse – a girl is insecure about how she
looks like and tries to change it. I liked that the spells are limited, because
magic usually is unlimited. Strange how Pino, Noki, and Kio’s photocopier can
do it with spell cards and them still working (they are innovators, but can’t
exactly see).
I wholeheartedly recommend this
movie because:
1.
The
voice acting is amazing.
2.
The
originality is stupendous.
3.
The
story is super!
4.
The
characters are amazing.
5.
Overall,
THIS MOVIE IS STUPENDOUS!
