Genre:           Adventure/Family

Based on the book by Dr.Seuss, The Lorax (2012) is another adventure about protecting nature, human greed and sharing and caring for the planet. The movie starts in a walled city named Thneedville, where everything (excluding humans, obviously), even trees are artificial. The substitute for fossil fuels is air. There, a boy named Ted wants to impress Audrey, his love interest with a natural tree. So, how would he get that? Ted then gets to know about the Once-ler, the person who cut all the Truffula trees but one.  And Ted hears a story from the once-ler about the Lorax, a short, orange creature who stands for the trees. The film evocatively describes ‘The Once-ler’s’ past and Ted’s future actions.

I feel nice that there is a film like this. It is just right paced. The film plot is just as good as the voice acting. However the animation was not up to the mark because there were too many recurring glitches. I also loved the Lorax’s intro as it had two minions in it (Because ‘The Lorax’ and ‘Despicable Me’ both being made by Universal Pictures). The balloon bee’s buzz was irritating. One good thing was air powered stuff. If it was real it would really stop pollution. The part where the whole of Thneedville unites and finishes Mr. O’Hare (The mayor) is amazing.

I wholeheartedly recommend this movie because:

1.       It is about the real life problem – Deforestation; And the impact of it on        animals and it describes human greed and its consequences in a step by        step manner.

2.       It is also very entertaining.

3.       It can be watched by all the age groups.

4.       The message is very subtle.
