Brave is a Disney Pixar film based in medieval Scotland.
The movie opens with Queen Elinor, (the queen of Clan
DunBroch) looking for someone. That person happens to be Merida, the daughter
of Elinor. Ten years later, Merida talks with the audience off-screen about
what is life there now and about her new triplet brothers, Harris, Hubert and
Hamish and describes them as ‘wee devils that could get away with murder’. She
also describes the stress she has to face as a princess, but every once in a
while, there was a day she didn’t have to be a princess.
One day, out of the clear blue sky, Elinor announced Merida’s
betrothal (engagement) to a prince.
Merida angrily stated that this was getting too much and she was too young to get
engaged. But still, her mother forced her to get engaged. On the day of
betrothal, the clans (MacGruffin, MacIntosh and Dingwall) arrive. After
arriving, the lords of each clan tell tall tales of their children who will
participate in the games.
After the games, Merida wanders off into the woods to
look for a way that will change her mom’s mind. There, she meets a bumbling
witch who is also an expert woodworker. The witch agrees to help Merida and
gives the red-haired girl a cake which was supposed to change her mom. It did
change her mom, but into a BEAR! Want to know more? Watch the movie!
I like the way the overconfidence of Merida was
portrayed so realistically. The animation style was also amazing. The way the mother-daughter
bond was portrayed was perfect. The triplets’ bear avatars were very cute. I also
liked the story of Mor’du, the bear antagonist. The movie also has many introductions, such as
Pixar’s new animation style to create a whole new world, and the Dolby Atmos
sound format, which I liked. I also got to know Merida had two voice actors for
the same film. Trivia is always amazing
and surprising, right? But, I do not think that Pixar had to give their
animation style a whole revamp just for Brave. I also found out that
Merida is also the 11th Disney princess and the first one to
originate from Disney Pixar. The only
flaws are:
·
It is way too short.
·
It has lesser dialogues
than expected.
- It has good character portrayal.
- It has good animation.
- It has perfect emotional presentation. Even better than Inside Out.
- It has an interesting plot.
- Over all, THE MOVIE IS REAL SUPER!
