A film adaptation of a 1981 book
with the same name, Jumanji (1995) is a spine chilling experience in the wild!
The movie starts in 1869, where two
boys named Caleb and Benjamin are burying a box. A century later in 1969, Alan
Parrish heads to his factory to escape bullies. Then Alan misplaces a shoe and
a worker takes the blame for him, ending up losing his job.
Alan then
found the century-old box in a construction yard. The box turned out a box for
Jumanji. Alan calls his friend Sarah to play with him and she agrees. At Alan’s
turn he gets sucked into Jumanji.
26 years later, in 1995, a boy and a
girl named Peter and Judy, find Jumanji and start playing it. When Peter gets a
chance to roll doubles, he rolls 8 & 5 And Alan comes right out of the
game. When Peter and Judy realised that they need to continue playing the game,
Alan tells them that he will also continue with them. He realizes that it is a
round he started back in 1969, and then they have to convince Sarah to play
with them. If you want to know more, watch the movie to find out further.
I like the way conditions and
animals in the game are shown in real life and their entry in the real world is
very exciting. It captures the spirit of the movie. I like the way Jonathan
Hyde has a double role as Van Pelt and Alan’s father, Samuel Parrish. The part where Peter starts turning into a
monkey is extremely unexpected. It is funny as well as serious. The part where
Van Pelt gets pelted by Peter’s plan is definitely up to the mark. Everything
is awesome, but the only flaws are:
- It has too many
obstacles.
- It has TOO much
drama.
Otherwise, the movie is AM-A-ZING!
I wholeheartedly recommend this film because:
1. It has an amazing plot.
2. It has a genre everyone likes: Fun, Craziness
3. It has amazing acting.
