Pravin Tambe is man who aspires to be in the Ranji Trophy, but in the selection phase, even though he plays well, he is rejected for being too old, and later, he is berated by his wife for being too cricket-minded. The year is 1984. Pravin, a 12 year old boy attempts to watch a Ranji cricket match, but is stopped by a guard. Pravin replies to the guard, that when he enters the Ranji, the guard will bow to Pravin. In the area that Pravin lives in, Pravin and his friends play cricket every day, and also break a lot of windows in that process. The year is 1986.
