AMAZING! A cricket movie almost always catches my fancies.

Pravin Tambe is man who aspires to be in the Ranji Trophy, but in the selection phase, even though he plays well, he is rejected for being too old, and later, he is berated by his wife for being too cricket-minded.

The year is 1984. Pravin, a 12 year old boy attempts to watch a Ranji cricket match, but is stopped by a guard. Pravin replies to the guard, that when he enters the Ranji, the guard will bow to Pravin. In the area that Pravin lives in, Pravin and his friends play cricket every day, and also break a lot of windows in that process. The year is 1986. Pravin and his band of friends go for Ranji qualification. Sadly, they don’t qualify. Later, Pravin has to go for a job interview, but bunks it to go and play an inter-company Times Shield cricket match, without being in the company who later gets accepted anyways, with double the salary of the company he would have joined. Then, as he wins more and more victories for the company, they get a new coach, Vidya Paradkar. Vidya advises Pravin to use an overarm spin bowling technique instead of the medium pace overarm technique that Pravin was using earlier, as his hands were built for spin. Pravin politely declines. Want to know more? Watch the movie!

This movie is epic. It has good morals, to relentlessly follow your dreams, and you won’t just have dreams. Your dreams will be a reality. Seriously, though, the guy in the diamond factory was terrible, as he forced Pravin to work for peanuts under the guise of trying to find players for a cricket team. Another journalist (who happened to be the narrator) who was against Pravin the whole time until he was successful was also bad.

I wholeheartedly recommend this movie because:

1.       The story is awesome.

2.       The morals are good,

3.       The characters are inspiring.

4.       The setting is well developed.

5.       Overall, this movie is AWESOME!
