The ultimate sequel to the hit book and movie (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), DOAWK: Rodrick Rules is great!
The movie starts with an attempt by
Susan to help Rodrick and Greg spend time together with ‘Mom Bucks’, a type of play
money that can be traded for real money. They could obtain Mom Bucks by
spending time together. So, the next day, Rodrick drops
Greg to school just to obtain Mom Bucks. One day, Greg and Rodrick get grounded after a church
scuffle and are banned from their trip to a
water park. When they are at home, Rodrick calls on a party and locks Greg in the basement.
After an hour or two of partying, Rodrick gets
a call from Susan. Greg joins in and tells that he is locked in the basement.
The next day, Greg and Rodrick get to know that Susan, Frank and Manny are
coming home early. So, the boys at home have to clear all evidence of the party.
They wipe out somewhat all evidence that the party ever existed, but they
realize that someone wrote ‘Rodrick Rules’ in permanent marker on the bathroom
door. Rodrick and Greg move the bathroom door to the basement and the basement
door to the bathroom. This creates another problem, that the basement door has
no lock. Later, on a few days after Thanksgiving, Susan and Frank find the
pictures of the party, and… duh… you know what happens. Want to know more?
Watch the movie!
I have to admit, this movie was really
cool. Honestly, I considered the Rodrick Rules book lame, because you know, Rodrick
Rules, and I personally don’t like Rodrick. So, I didn’t have many expectations
for the movie. But I was TOTALLY proven wrong. My friend said that the book was
great and I had to read it. In the movie the acting is superb, the character
rendition is perfect. Only Rodrick felt a bit out of character near the end.
But one thing: Why did you remove the sombrero scene? I’m kinda glad the role
of Holly Hills is expanded in this. Peyton List was GREAT in Holly’s role.
There are no flaws, thank you very much.
I wholeheartedly recommend this movie because:
- The. Acting. Is. Superb.
- The characters are superb.
- The animated parts are good.
- I don’t even have words for this movie.
- Overall, THE MOVIE IS REMARKABLE!
