An epic supersonic experience, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is a blast!

It has been a few years since Sonic banished Robotnik to the mushroom planet. Robotnik, with one of Sonic’s quills, has finally made a big machine to return to Earth, by opening a portal back to Earth, but then, he chances upon an echidna named Knuckles, and the decide to team up.

Back on earth, Sonic has perfectly adapted to life in Green Hills, MT. He also sometimes tries to play the superhero figure, by trying to save people in Seattle. However, his brash and irresponsible attitude destroys a city block while trying to defuse a bomb and stop a bank truck robbery. Tom, a police officer nicknamed ‘Donut Lord’ by Sonic, says that Sonic should tone down his powers till the time they are needed.

One Saturday, Tom and his wife Maddie leave for Maddie’s sister’s wedding in Hawaii, using Sonics magic rings that can teleport you anywhere you want. Sonic then has the house to himself for the weekend, and enjoys the rest of the Saturday thoroughly. But on Sunday, Robotnik lands in Green Hills again, now with Knuckles by his side. THIS MOVIE WAS EPIC! According to me, casting Idris Elba as Knuckles was the most galaxy-brain move ever. Knuckles as a character is my favourite, even more so than Sonic. Knuckles has a further backstrory than Sonic, and both of them’s story weaves into each other’s. Knuckles was orphaned because Longclaw, Sonic’s legal guardian, was trying to protect him. One’s story and the other’s and tied. Maybe their futures too. Jim Carrey was his energetic, expressive, slapstick self though the entire movie, and his new look makes him look a lot more like

I wholeheartedly recommend this movie because:

1.       The characters are great.

2.       Robotnik’s portrayal is great.

3.       The settings are epic, far better than last movie.

4.       The VFX is amazing, and ramped up this time.
